Back problems are one of the biggest causes of employee absence in Ireland.

According to statistics, 80% of our population will suffer from back problems sometime during their lifetime. Safety First Consultancy has a Manual Handling Course which trains employees to lift and carry objects safely. By doing so as a company, you can reduce your company’s long term costs but minimizing days off due to back pain.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 2005 and The Manual Handling Regulations place a duty on every employer to reduce the potential injury from manual handling operations.

This course is designed to meet those standards and to prevent further injuries.

The aim of the course is to provide participants with information and safety procedures when manually handling loads. This e-learning informs of the relevant legislation concerning manual handling in the workplace. During the presentation participants learn of rights and duties regarding manual handling in a working environment. The course provides information and advice about the safe handling of loads, to help protect the back when lifting objects as well as how to recognise some of the risks involved in handling objects.
