In February, The Health and Safety Authority published its ‘Programme of Work for 2017’. This provides details of planned actions, priorities and inspection targets for 2017.  The HSA aims to reduce workplace fatalities and will carry out a wide range of enforcement, prevention and support activities during the year. 11,220 workplace inspections and investigations are planned. There will be 4,000 construction site inspections focusing on preventing accidents involving self-employed workers and small sized contractors.
