Safety Representatives

Safety Representatives

Safety and Health representatives form a vital link between employers and employees. Their role is to enable employers to discuss safety and health matters, and to work together with employees to make the workplace safe. While it is the employer’s responsibility under the 2005 Act to provide and maintain a safe work environment and safe systems of work, the law also says the employer must consult and co-operate with Safety Representatives and other employees about safety and health.
